System INI fileThe system INI file "system.ini" is located in the settings folder. It contains a lot of local settings for Transtool, such as window positions and sizes, quick insert texts (see Insert quick text), and whether the help window is shown at start.

The settings folder will be the folder where the ttw10.exe program is installed.

QA check INI filesSince Transtool version 2.0, INI files should only contain information about Transtool checks. They can also contain information about fonts, quick insert texts, and other settings, but these will be automatically transferred to the system INI file.

QA check INI files are loaded by going to the menu "Settings" > "Open custom ini file...".

Under some circumstances, INI files may be loaded automatically. They are, in order:

  1. The embedded INI file (if one was embedded into the Transtool document)
  2. An INI file with the same name (and path) as the Transtool document, but with the ".ini" extension.
  3. An INI file in the settings folder, called "ttw10xx.ini", where "xx" is the target language.
  4. An INI file in the settings folder, called "ttw10.ini".
  5. An INI file in the settings folder, called "ttw075xx.ini", where "xx" is the target language.
  6. An INI file in the settings folder, called "ttw075.ini".

FLS filesThe recent file list "ttw.fls" is located in the settings folder. It contains a list of recently opened Transtool documents.

Spellcheck filesIf the spellchecker is installed, the library and dictionary files are downloaded into a subfolder called "hunspell", located in the same folder as "ttw10.exe". This folder will contain the library "hunspelldll.dll", and all applicable software licenses as text files. There's also a subfolder called "dict" which contains dictionaries for each language. Each dictionary has the following files:

  • ".aff"
  • ".dic"
  • "_LICENSE.txt"
  • ".custom" (only if any custom words have been added)

The old spellchecker (before July 2013) was installed into a subfolder called "aspell". If this folder exists when hunspell is installed, Transtool will try to transfer the custom dictionaries from aspell to hunspell.
